
Linguistic and Maths skills through music
a key to creativity of integrated European societies
We want to become a modern society that looks for new ways of self- improvement. We are sure that it will be possible thanks to implementing the project "Linguistic and mathematical skills through music - the key to the creativity of integrated European Societies" in cooperation with partners from Turkey, Spain and Greece. An international cooperation will support a promotion of common European values such as social integration, tolerance, intercultural understanding. The project is interdisciplinary and multi-faceted, referring primarily to music, mathematics and foreign languages. It will allow the adults to build activity structures as a form of non-formal education - a choir in adult education through the development of mathematical, linguistic and musical skills that will strengthen the competences necessary in the labor market. The participants will be people at different age from 18 to 50+, 60+ and more, employed, unemployed or retired and also with special needs. They have one common feature - openess to new challenges. Thy are people who want to change their attitude to life and get rid of stereotypes through getting to know the other countries' culture and who want to perform their skills during local, regional or international events and pass their knowledge, experience at local and international events.
Adult education, lifelong learning, talent development, civic integration ideas in our project which relate to educational value of European cultural heritage will include the organization of educational visits and workshops for different target groups i.e. theme meetings on songs and music with musicians or music teachers, concerts in the local, regional, national and internal.The project activities are planned to fulfill the objectives which are coherent with the Erasmus plus priorities. Our objectives will be to develop skills and qualifications in the field of communication in English through the use of musical activity in the adult learning process aimed at stimulating, developing creativity and cooperation skills in the task group, to improve knowledge of other countries’ cultures as well as organizational, economic and legal conditions affecting education, to build non-formal education structures in adult education by acquiring new competences: mathematics, language and music, which will strengthen the competences necessary in the labor market of the modern world, to learn the methods and techniques of adult education used in the countries, elaborate good practices, transfer and popularize experiences, to increase the adults' experience in international cooperation, acquiring both organizational and project management skills. We will fulfill our goals through various forms of activities. Each partner organization will organize a schedule of cyclic meetings to work in two spheres - musical and lingual:

Theme meetings on songs with "flowers" in different languages, «Meetings with music"
when listeners will learn English through translation the words and singing. During the cyclic meetings the participants will train musical hearing, memory, diction and development of intonation-emission sensitivity. They will develop the skills of artistic performing of choral songs, prepare the team to performance in front of the audience, select the songs, and learn vocabulary by translating lines of songs. The participants will be active organizers of events, performances, meetings as well as creators of articles, newsletters and other dissemination materials.Impact
At local level the desired impact is to make people, families and citizens become more confident with other cultures, overcome stereotypes and prejudices. It will be important to share the project so that everyone can benefit from the gained experience. At regional level it is expected the cooperation with the authorities to work together in a wider common purpose, illustrating the best practices gained and improving the quality of education. To a wider European level it is expected to contribute to the development of a first quality long-life learning and make the realization of a permanent European context stronger.

Gniewkowo Municipality is an urban - rural area of industrial – agricultural characteristic. The area is inhabited by 14,786 people. The town of Gniewkowo covers 913 hectares and 7,210 people live there. Gniewkowo is one of the oldest towns in Kujawy region. Gniewkowo Town Hall coordinates the work of subordinate units and institutions such as schools - primary and secondary, local library or local culture and health centre. The schools have very good learning conditions with labs, a sport base, modern gym s or football pitches. The youngest children attend a Municipal Kindergarten in Gniewkowo. The Municipality organizes and supports the educational process and activities people at risk of social exclusion because of their age and economic conditions. It continuously provides the possibility of development of professional skills and activities for adults at different age in various training courses and projects. It also cares about sustainable development of society, taking into account the specific needs of social groups of all ages by taking local initiatives for development and activation of adults, including in its offer the needs of those at risk and disadvantaged communities. Gniewkowo Municipality raises funds for development and activities, and for organizing courses and workshops for economically inactive people. These actions inspire people to develop their interests and to spend time together. Thanks to these actions the local communities integrate themselves, creating the new quality of life of their region.
The municipality is involved in projects related to the activation of the unemployed or retired people. It gives them the opportunity to obtain new skills that enable them to get job or to spend their free time creatively. These actions prevent the people who remain outside the labour market for a long time against social exclusion. Worth mentioning here facts is the establishment of The University of the Third Age in cooperation with University of WSG Economy in Bydgoszcz where the students have a way to take part in courses including Art, Conversation, Computers, Crafts, Debate, Drama, History, Languages and Social Sciences, and Philosophy. Moreover, the students were often invited to take part in all the local cultural events in addition to make their life more valuable in a sense of culture and its impression. Environmental Home of Mutal Aid is another type of supporting centres for adults who are chronically mentally ill, mentally handicapped and adults having chronic mental disorders actions like depression or social phobias.
It undertakes and supports the organization of activities thanks to its own funds as well as to the ones obtained from the Operational Programme - Human Capital in order to gain new professional skills.
It finances activities of folk group "Gniewkowo" from its own funds, promoting folk culture of the region. It activates those who are at retirement age, at risk of exclusion due to social status, economic position and age. It also tries to expand offers and supports local initiatives resulting from the citizens self- activity. For the last few years the Municipality of Gniewkowo has eagerly promoted spending free time in an active way and has been investing money into a sports base. There are numerous modern and well equipped places for taking part in sporting activities. The cultural events in the Gniewkowo Municipality are organized by the Town - Municipal Centre of Culture, Sport and Recreation in Gniewkowo. It prepares various cultural events such as the Days of Gniewkowo Duchy, Municipal harvest festivals, concerts, exhibitions, fairs and other entertainments. There are also quite many clubs of interest for the locals to enjoy. Organizing various activities for their inhabitants, the Town Council of Gniewkowo changes the quality of life, creates new attitudes and encourages to participate in long life learning.

Talas Adult Education Center is located in Kayseri Provience in the centre of Anatolia. The city is about 300 km far away from the capital and has about 1.320.000 population, it is the 15th biggest city of Turkey. The Adult Education Center is located in the center of the city.
Our Adult Education Center determines educational policies and strategic plans which determined by the Ministry of National Education and General Directorate of Public Adult Education. The Center is working on managing, directing, controlling and coordinating in accordance with legislation and programs, it is responsible to perform efficiently and effectively for the personal.
Our Directorate vision is; Innovative free thinking, developing itself and its environment, hence its country a strong bridge between the past and the future by raising individuals with national and moral values, first around them, then around the National and to be a leading institution with its social and Cultural Studies in the international arena.
There is an adult education center which is working under the control of our institution. The main duty of the centre is to provide education in line with the wishes and needs of people of all ages and educational levels of the life-long society by increasing the quality of life of our people in every field. It gives many types of courses to adults. Learners are from 18 to above. The adult education department gives courses over 2000 learners each year.
Social and cultural courses: There are many courses in the instution which are organized to raise the cultural level of society, to give social and cultural knowledge skills to individuals, to teach reading and writing to those who do not know reading and writing, to complete the general education deficiencies, to prepare the learners for a higher education, to protect the national cultural values, to live and to spread these values.
Some courses we have for adult learners; ICT, English A1 and A2 level, Music and Performing Arts and Sports, Child Development and Education, Handicrafts, Manufacturing Technology, Public Relations and Organization.
